It’s hard to oversleep when the smell of the ocean water, the brilliant sunshine and a bunch of chatty seagulls are your alarm clock.  And this always helps when we have an early itinerary and have to be somewhere on time.

My bar stool was in the middle of the hallway facing the open-kitchen and half-obstructing a walkway. I guess I was in the way of walking-traffic, but in all honesty I didn’t care.

Have you ever wanted to do something impulsive or just had to deal with a change in your travel plans?  We have, especially on this trip.  With a looming VIA Rail strike and some last minute executive decisions that had to be made due to time commitments, we decided to get peachy in Penticton this long weekend and we needed to book a flight, fast. 

We met Marg Mills at the Air Canada check-in counter in Winnipeg.   As it turns out, Marg has worked with Air Canada for more than two decades and she is retiring on October 23.  We wanted to write something about her and tell everyone how wonderful her service was.  Actually the entire team was super friendly and helpful.

“Please tell Ms. Revay and Ms. Weldon to meet the Air Canada Concierge Agent at the gate,” said one flight attendant to another. (I overheard them, as I was exiting the plane this morning.)

Carolyne and I can’t live without our Smartphones, especially being on this journey across Canada. We also tend to lose important paper documents (sometimes).
