It's been almost two months since I last logged off and I can hardly believe it's October already. Where did the time go? Although the sun is still shining bright and remnants of an unforgettable summer linger in the air, the leaves on the trees are now a burned-caramel colour and in the early mornings, you can see the warm breath hit the cooling air.
Celebrating Thanksgiving yesterday, I realized that we truly have to celebrate life for all the good things that happen to us. It also made me realize how thankful I am to have had the experience of seeing the entire country at my age. With that in mind, I know many Vancouverites and Canadians are ecstatic about the start of the 2010 Winter Games. And here at Canada is a Big Place, we share that sentiment.
With less than three months until the Opening Ceremonies for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the excitement is palpable in the city. Soon, thousands of media from hundreds of countries will congregate in Vancouver and make the city their home for two weeks. For now, Canada is a Big Place will take a short break so we can focus on the games, but we'll be back in the future. Then we can tell you all about our exciting adventures that'll take place in the coming months.
Make sure to check back to the Canadian Tourism Commission's story ideas about the Olympics and of course to Canada is a Big Place. And like I said before, this final post for the year is not a goodbye, just a see you soon.
It was disappointing in my part not to see the winter Olympic. May be next time.
