Quebec’s ice hotel moving to Québec City park for Jan-Mar season.

by Michelle Pentz Glave

Quebec’s fairyland “ice hotel” is pretty cool (sorry, can’t resist!), oui, but it just got even more interesting. That’s because beginning in January, it’s going up in a new location. The palace of frozen water and snow, which is constructed entirely from scratch each season, is moving from Station touristique Duchesnay to a Québec City park.

What that means for you? You can do the whole “Doctor Zhivago” chalet/ice hotel fantasy, sleeping-on-animal-skins-with-your-honey, martinis-at-the-ice-bar-thing, then head out for big city fun. The Ice Hotel is open from Jan. 7 to March 27, 2011.
