The Stanley Cup final starts today (Wed., June 1) between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins. Hopes are high across the country that this will be the first Canadian team to bring the trophy “home” since the Montréal Canadians did the honours in 1993.
Cars and trucks are festooned with flags and scarves; liquor store managers are looking around and wondering where all that beer has gone; Canadians around the globe are resetting the alarm clocks or juggling their work schedules to watch the games.
The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) is playing a part in spreading the fervour. We’ve given broadcasters NBC and CBC updated b-roll footage of Vancouver, BC, and Canada to help showcase the city and travel experiences around the country during game-time coverage.
There’s a potential seven games to decide who will lift Lord Stanley’s famous mug. If you’ve not already pinned it to your fridge or primed your BlackBerry schedule, here’s the Stanley Cup final schedule in full.
