Win iPod Touch in CTC Canada travel contest

by Victoria Revay

I’ve been teasing you about our upcoming contest for the last few weeks, and now I’m going to stop. That’s because it’s grand reveal time.

What’s it all about?

For our contest—very appropriately entitled “Canada Travel Memory Contest” —we’re challenging you to tell us your favourite Canada travel memory in a simple Tweet.
What might it look like? Maybe something like this:

“Dawson City's midnight sun and accidental luck brought us together. The Dome, Diamond Tooth Gerties and music kept us there.”

Now, all you have to do is come up with your own original, creative Canadian travel memory in a 140-characters or fewer. Please, hashtag it #ctccontest for the chance to win a 16-GB iPod Touch, sponsored by, and courtesy of, the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC). The contest runs from 9 am ET Aug. 19 to 9 am ET on Aug. 21. To enter, all you need is a Twitter account. Tweet us your memory some time during the contest. There’s a limit of one entry per person per day, and the Tweet must include the contest hashtag. Our judges will pick the contest winner on Aug. 26; I’ll send a Tweet to the lucky winner. For full contest rules, visit our site.

Good luck! Oh, and here’s the short version of the official rules:
No purchase necessary. Open to legal residents of Canada at least age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Skill-testing question required. Contest begins Aug. 19, 2009 at 9 am ET and closes on Aug. 21, 2009 at 9 am ET. One (1) prize of a 16-GB iPod Touch available to be delivered to the winner chosen. Approximate retail value is $329. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries and how well each entry matches contest judging criteria as determined by the contest judges. Entries judged based upon novelty, creativity and the extent to which each entry is a compelling story about a uniquely Canadian travel experience, each weighted equally. Internet access and a valid Twitter account are required. For full contest details, visit our site.
