Predator Ridge, home to The Okanagan’s most celebrated golf course, The Predator Course, is set to take the 2010 season by storm with the opening of its newest addition, The Ridge Course.
Bragging Rights package offers exclusive sneak peek in July
Vernon, BC – March 25, 2010 – Predator Ridge, home to The Okanagan’s most celebrated golf course, The Predator Course, is set to take the 2010 season by storm with the opening of its newest addition, The Ridge Course. Designed by award-winning Canadian golf architect, Doug Carrick, The Ridge Course will premiere to the public on August 1, 2010, with an exclusive opportunity for guests staying at the Predator Ridge Lodge to enjoy a sneak peek beginning July 1.
“At Predator Ridge, we are thrilled to be adding a Doug Carrick course to our resort,” says Rod Cochrane, general manager of Predator Ridge Resort. “With the opening of The Ridge Course, we anticipate that Predator Ridge Resort will solidify its status as one of the top golfing destinations in Canada.”
Built at a cost of more than $10 million, the 7,190-yard par-72 scenic Ridge Course features dramatic elevation changes, stunning mountain vistas, granite rock outcroppings and breathtaking views of Okanagan Lake. Construction of the course was completed in September 2009.
While public access to The Ridge Course will remain limited until August, The Predator Course is scheduled to open for play on April 15. Golfers looking to get an even earlier start can practice their swing at the driving range daily starting April 7.
“While many courses in The Okanagan region have already opened for the season, we have decided to keep The Predator Course closed until ground conditions are optimal,” said Doug Goubault, director of golf.
Poised to be one of the most promising golfing seasons in Predator Ridge’s 20-year history, the anticipated opening of both courses is apt to be well worth the wait. Starting in August, The Ridge Course and The Predator Course will alternate days for public and private play, giving resort guests, homeowners and the general public access to both.
Golf lovers eager to be among the first to tee off can reserve the Bragging Rights package, which includes exclusive early access to The Ridge Course in July, one round on The Predator Course and a two-night stay at Predator Ridge Lodge. Packages start from $379 per person, based on double occupancy.
Guests keen to conquer the must-play Predator Course can take advantage of the Spring Stay & Play package. Balancing length and design strategy, The Predator Course features 18 holes of rolling hills and golden fescue meadows for a links-style play. Ranked among SCORE Golf’s Top 25 Courses and twice host to the prestigious Skins Game, The Predator Course presents a challenge for even the most experienced golfer.
With the Spring Stay & Play package, guests will receive one night accommodation in a Studio Suite, 18 holes at The Predator Course (including golf cart and use of practice facility) and access to Predator Ridge’s state-of-the-art fitness centre, pools and trail system during their stay.
