Ever wanted to hug a dancing snowman? Spend a day or three at Québec City’s Carnaval de Québec and you’ll likely have that chance, especially if you decide to join the winter-crazy Quebecers who strip to their skivvies and “swim” in the snow where Bonhomme Carnaval plays with the participants.
The event lasts a couple of weeks, and there is lots of fun to go around —from sleigh rides and tubing to adult drinks served in ice glasses and much more—as our slideshow by photographer Randall Shirley shows. The 2011 event runs Jan. 28 to Feb. 13.
