Canada scores in Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘best resort spas.’

BC’s King Pacific Lodge, Wickaninnish Inn take top slots in mag’s prestigious reader’s poll. Two Fairmont hotels make the list.

They’re in the limelight so often, it’s almost getting tedious—almost. Once again, two stunning British Columbia properties have scored big in the current issue of glossy US travel mag Condé Nast Traveler’s survey of the Americas’ top 240 spas.

In first place for “Resort Spas—Canada” is luxe King Pacific Lodge, a fly-in floating lodge on Princess Royal Island, BC. Overall, the lodge scored 97 out of 100. No. 2 in the category: Tofino, BC’s cliffside Wickaninnish Inn on Vancouver Island, coming in overall at 94.

Three other Canadian resort spas made the list: Alberta’s castle-like Fairmont Banff Springs at No. 3 (92.8 overall score), just nudging out the tony Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, BC (92 overall score); rounding off the top five was another Vancouver Island highlight: Victoria, BC’s classic Fairmont Empress (88 overall score), a favourite spot for not only the spa, but a lavish afternoon tea.
