It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s… Accent Inn’s new Flight Adventures package!

Calling all wannabe pilots: head to Richmond, BC and learn to fly a jet plane—without the jet plane. It’s a bargain, too.

by Julie Ovenell-Carter

You know those flying dreams you sometimes have? The ones where you lift off from your front stoop or office cubby and soar like Superman across a brilliant blue sky? Yeah, I like those dreams, too. And thanks to the new Flight Adventure package running ‘til the end of the year at the Accent Inn near Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, BC, I might just be able to turn fantasy into a brief reality.
For $235, you can make like a pilot for a full hour in a flight simulator modelled after a Boeing 737 or an Airbus A320.  But be warned: this ain’t no amusement-park ride. Every button, switch, control and system mirrors the real airplane; in fact, the Flight Adventures simulators are so authentic, that real airline pilots use them for procedural work and flight management training. If you want, you can choose to fly between European cities, or pilot a red-eye flight, or even risk a few mechanical failures or two. This is like Mighty Machines for grownups.
And it’s a steal when you consider the package price includes an overnight stay at the Accent Inn Vancouver Airport. (The one-hour simulation package usually costs $159 on its own.) Whether you’re looking to kill time on a long layover or just make a hard-to-buy-for husband smile, this package promises to be a first-class ticket to fun.
