Sparkling Hill Resort & Wellness Hotel opens in BC.

This place has you covered head to toe to chakras: from consultants to spa tx to saltwater pools to organic vino. And it actually does sparkle.

by Suzanne Morphet

Hmmmm. I can’t decide. Do I want to be wrapped in a clay “mask” infused with cardamom and ginger, or have my whole body scrubbed with an uplifting combination of jasmine and natural sea salt? Maybe I’ll be immersed in mineral-rich mud from the Dead Sea instead.

Whichever it is, I know I’ll be blissed out when I visit Sparkling Hill Resort & Wellness Hotel near Vernon, BC, when it opens in April.

The owners have thought of everything imaginable for a whole-body wellness experience. Organic food and wine from the nearby Okanagan Valley, saltwater pools—indoors and outside—medical and nutrition consultants, a dazzling array of spa treatments, and—speaking of dazzling—a bejewelled building to enjoy it all in.

The 152-room Sparkling Hill Resort actually will sparkle. That’s because the designers have embedded thousands of Swarovski Crystals throughout the wellness centre, in ceilings, walls, tiles, fireplaces; there are even crystal elements in the indoor waterfalls.

Picture this: sunlight pouring through the big picture windows overlooking Lake Okanagan and reflecting off crystals. You’re in the Bliss Zone sipping herbal tea, stretched out on a chaise lounge and enjoying views of the Monashee Mountains. And you’re contemplating something you’ve never tried before: stepping into a cold sauna wearing little more than your bikini. What does minus 110º C (-166º F) feel like? In Europe—where this treatment is considered beneficial for a variety of medical conditions—people say they feel warm all over.

I’ll let ya know.
