Can’t make it to Whistler, BC? Tune in to the blog.

Five Whistlerites take you into the action for a season around the 2010 Winter Games.

by Masa Takei

Can’t make it to Whistler, BC? No worries. Now you can—in the blogosphere. Blogs by a diverse handful of young Whistlerites are the resort’s newest addition to its social media bag of fun. Readers can live a season in Whistler Blackcomb—a host of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games—vicariously through these five sets of eyes and ears, boards and sticks.

And the bloggers are…

  • Meg (Monday) – Had dreamed of living in Whistler since she was seven, when she visited on a family ski trip. Meg’s been living that dream for the past decade but is still discovering new ways to engage her town.
  • Grant (Tuesday) – His third winter in Whistler, this Brit is looking to ramp up his riding to the next level. His goal is to spend 100 days on the mountain. This freelance writer also has a keen interest in the people behind the resort.
  • Victoria (Wednesday) – This Aussie had never seen snow fall before arriving in Canada five months ago. New to Whistler and new to snowboarding, she navigates this world with fresh eyes and aching body.
  • Sam (Thursday) – Five seasons in Whistler and 23 years skiing means this accomplished photographer can keep up with the world-class riders and skiers he shoots.
  • Beric (Friday) – A true expert skier, he uses his intimate knowledge of the terrain and snow conditions to pick out the deepest lines during his days out on the hill.

The blogs will be updated five days a week (Monday to Friday), all winter season: www.whistlerblackcomb.com/blogs.
